ABOUT THE ARTIST

Croatian mezzo-soprano Jelena Kordić made her operatic debut in 2010 at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, and in 2011 she performed the title role in the opera Carmen at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall. Since 2017, she has been a member of the Staatstheater Braunschweig ensemble, and then, for six years, she worked at the National Theater Mannheim, where she achieved notable performances as Charlotte, Adalgisa, Carmen, Oktavian, Komponist, Preziosilla, etc. She has guested at leading opera houses and concert halls, including the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf, the Oper Köln, the Latvian National Opera in Riga, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Taichung in Taiwan, and other international centers.

Croatian bass Ante Jerkunica is one of the most significant and internationally sought-after basses of today, recognized for his vocal depth, stylistic versatility and strong stage presence. He began his career in 2002 at the Croatian National Theatre in Split, where he quickly established himself in key bass roles such as the King ( Aida ), Gremin ( Eugene Onegin ), Wurm ( Luisa Miller ), Oroves ( Norma ) and Raimondo ( Lucia di Lammermoor ). After winning first prize at the international competition in Zagreb, he began an intensive international career and became a member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where he developed a wide repertoire from bel canto to late romanticism and Wagner.

As a pianist and vocal pedagogue, Laurent Philippe has developed an intensive collaboration with numerous distinguished opera artists. He was a member of the teaching staff of the prestigious Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia for nineteen years, and as a guest vocal pedagogue he has collaborated with numerous opera houses around the world, including the Houston Grand Opera, Glyndebourne Festival, Canadian Opera Company, Michigan Opera Theatre, Florentine Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Opera Philadelphia, Opera Lyra Ottawa, Opera San José, Seattle Opera, Atlantic Center for the Arts and Princeton Festival.
