Trio 1887 was founded in 2015 by pianist Petra Gilming, violinist Sho Akamatsu and cellist Branimir Pustički, graduates of the Zagreb Academy of Music of different generations. His rich individual experience and successes such as awards at foreign competitions (Pietra Ligure, Moncalieri, Pinerolo Italy; Huml, Croatia; Novosibirsk, Russia; J. Brahms, Austria; W. Lutoslawski, Poland), performances with domestic and foreign orchestras or in chamber partnerships with esteemed domestic and foreign artists have successfully translated into joint music-making, and with their first performance they have achieved significant success: at the fourth national competition "Papandopulo" held in Zagreb at the end of 2015, they won the first prize and all the special prizes. Since then, Trio 1887 has performed on renowned stages and festivals such as the Osor Music Evenings, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, the Vukovar Chamber Music Festival, the Milko Kelemen Days, the Prandau Festival, the Rovinj Festival, the Euphrasian Poreč, and the Danish chamber music festivals Elvermose and Schubertiaden.
