ABOUT THE PERFORMER

Matej Mijalić (Rijeka, 2000) began playing the violin at the age of eight at the Ivan Matetić Ronjgov Music School in Rijeka. At the age of twelve, he enrolled in the program for exceptionally gifted young musicians (Hochbegabtenkurs) at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, in the class of Marina Sorokowa. He began his violin studies in 2017 at the Music Academy of the University of Zagreb in the class of Leonid Sorokow. He graduated in 2022 in the class of Orest Shourgot. During his studies, he won numerous first and absolute prizes at national and international competitions; most recently, he won the 21st Ferdo Livadić International Competition for Young Musicians in Samobor (2024).

Arsen Dalibaltayan (2003) has won multiple awards at national and international competitions for young pianists, including first prizes at ArsNova (Trieste), Città di Gorizia, Mladi virtuozi, Zlatko Grgošević, EPTA (Osijek), Jurica Murai (Varaždin), and Virtuosi per Musica di Pianoforte (Ústí nad Labem). He made his debut as a soloist with an orchestra at the age of nine, performing Haydn's Piano Concerto in D major. In 2020, he performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 2 at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, for which he received the Rector's Award. He has also performed with the Varaždin Chamber Orchestra, the Zagreb Philharmonic, the WunderKammer Orchestra, and at numerous festivals in Croatia and abroad.
